November 10, 2010

I am quickly learning how very lucky I am! At this amazing banquet, I was able to spend time with the other Teacher of the Year semifinalists. What a night! We were all celebrated for our accomplishments in education.

The most touching moment of the night was when I was introduced by Andrew Poulliot, a former student of my first grades 3-4 loop. I was so proud to watch him speak before such a large audience and share his thoughts about our time learning together. This moment will be a highlight on my journey and hopefully one for him to remember, too!

My heart will forever be touched by Andrew's kind words. He shared that my students become a part of my family and I couldn't agree more. He even got to read an official proclamation with Commissioner Faherty declaring November 10, 2010 as Shelly Moody Day!
